Katie nattered with her fella JJ, who looked equally chilled in an American football jersey and shorts.

The relaxed pair were spotted in Cyprus with the bankruptcy hearing which she failed to show up to far from her thoughts.

‘She looked like the cat that got the cream’

An observer told The Sun yesterday: “I had to do a double-take. I’d heard Katie was expected in court over her finances, but here she was without a care in the world in front of me.

“She clearly had no worries as she dawdled along the sunny pavement, enjoying the last of the rays.

“Katie’s cavalier attitude was remarkable when you consider she was expected at the hearing. I just couldn’t believe my eyes.

“Presumably, celebrities get treated differently from the rest of us. She looked like the cat that got the cream.”

The Sun’s exclusive video of Katie enjoying the surroundings of Ayia Napa at 6 pm on Saturday came after she revealed she was anxious about the UK bankruptcy hearing.

Jail warning

While she and her partner enjoyed the sun, a High Court judge warned on Friday that she could face jail for contempt.

The former model was seen working out in the gym and visiting the spa at the luxurious Adams Beach Hotel in Ayia Napa, where deluxe suites can cost up to £760 per night.

A British tourist spotted Katie, 45, and Married At First Sight’s JJ, 31, enjoying a meal.

They told The Sun: “I saw them checking in on Friday evening.

“We saw them later in the bar as they were sitting near us. They were having food and drinks and seemed incredibly relaxed.

Last minute change

Judge Mark Mullen, sitting in London, was told Katie’s assistant had sent an email last Thursday stating the model and TV personality could not attend court because of anxiety and depression.

Judge Mullen said a medical letter with the email did not give enough detail about Katie’s health issues.

He said: “There is a consistent pattern here of last-minute adjournments being sought on the basis of quite scant medical evidence.”

The judge ruled she must turn up at the next hearing on May 3, or send more detailed proof of why she could not attend.

Otherwise a warrant will be issued for her arrest.

A history of money woes

Katie was first declared bankrupt in November 2019, with debts of £3.2million.

Last month she was declared bankrupt again, owing the taxman £760,000.

After her Friday no-show, ex-husband Alex Reid, who she owes £250,000, said: “People will be asking, ‘How does she get away with it?’”

Katie’s agent did not comment.
