Pop superstar, Taylor Swift became the first artist in Grammy Award history to win Album of the Year 4 times.
Swift clinched the victory for her pop album ‘Midnights’, making her the only artist to claim the title four times, beating the likes of music legends like Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder.
However, the singer’s win seemed to be overshadowed by Jay-Z’s speech, calling out the Grammys for snubbing his wife, Beyonce by never awarding her Album Of The Year.Early in the show, the rapper was presented with the Dr Dre Global Impact award. While accepting the trophy, he spoke about how he has always wanted the Grammys to recognise the artists that most influence culture.Soon after his speech went viral online, the show concluded with Taylor Swift taking home the top prize of Album Of The Year.
With both topics creating a stir on social media, Swifties took to their handles to point out that Jay-Z’s apparent diss to Swift almost felt like the “Kanye moment came full circle.”
