MrBeast responds to claims Disney bought his YouTube channel for $5bn

YouTube superstar MrBeast has shut down claims that Disney purchased his channel for an eye-watering $5 billion after rumors circulated on social media.

MrBeast is by far the biggest creator on YouTube, having over a staggering 242 million subscribers on his main channel alone.

The YouTube star continues to break record after record and is even believed to be closing a deal worth $100 million for his first TV show with Amazon Prime.

However, recently rumors have emerged that MrBeast has sold his YouTube channel to media conglomerate Disney.

MrBeast shuts down Disney rumors
During a February 25 episode of The Iced Coffee Hour podcast, hosts Graham Stephan and Jack Selby took a moment to troll their guests, Sam and Colby, claiming MrBeast sold his YouTube channel to Disney for a staggering $5 billion.

The clip has gone viral across social media, but crucially leaving out the key part in which the podcast hosts revealed that they were joking, leaving many fans of the YouTuber fooled.

With the clip resurfacing on Twitter/X on March 3, tricking more people into believing MrBeast sold his channel, the YouTube star was forced to shut down the claims. “Disney does not own any part of my channel,” he simply responded.

Not only that, in another post MrBeast lashed out at the “wild” conspiracies around his name recently. The YouTube star came under fire for a now-deleted tweet criticizing US politician Nancy Pelosi.

Some claimed the 25-year-old was forced to delete the post after noticing the politician’s nephew is a talent manager of the agency that represents him.

“First I sold my channel to Disney and now Pelosi has control over me? The conspiracies are wild recently,” MrBeast wrote, adding a laughing emoji.

He continued: “No idea who this dude is/no agency tells me what I can or can’t say. For the record, I don’t think she/others should be able to trade stock while knowing classified information. It’s not even that crazy of an opinion lol.”

With no signs of his growth slowing down anytime soon, there’d be no reason for MrBeast to sell his YouTube empire just yet, having already turned down a $1 billion offer in the past.
