A tweet from longtime hoops reporter Dick Weiss is going viral, suggesting that the Indiana Fever sold more Caitlin Clark No. 22 jerseys than the Dallas Cowboys sold all season long.

“Caitlin Clark sold more Fever jerseys in one day than the Cowboys sold last year for the entire team,” he wrote.

The tweet has been retweeted more than 1,000 times and viewed more than viewed more than 1.6 million times. If true, it’s an astounding stat.

However, it’s probably fake. It’s unclear where Weiss got his information from. The Fever have sold a ton of Clark jerseys, selling out on Fanatics at one point, but the Dallas Cowboys are the biggest brand in all of football – and really, American sports.

Micah Parsons had one of the best-selling jerseys in the NFL and CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott were high up on the list, too.

“This keeps getting thrown around, but considering the Cowboys had two of the five highest selling jerseys last year, I’m highly skeptical of this. Has anyone posted what the actual numbers were for both? Because Micah’s jersey was the #1 selling jersey in the entire NFL in ’24,” Cowboys reporter Bobby Belt shared.

“A number of outlets are reporting this, and the only sourcing is this one tweet. I haven’t seen it anywhere else,” he added.

While Clark is undoubtedly a massive star in the sports world, it’s highly, highly doubtful that she has sold more jerseys than the Cowboys – or any NFL team, for that matter.
