Lady Gaga Screamed “It’s True” After Sandra Oh Mocked Her “A Star Is Born” Meme at Golden Globes 2019

“A Star Is Born” keeps on giving.

We’re only one week into 2019, but another epic meme has already emerged. The 2019 Golden Globes provided us with no shortage of fashionable, powerful, and historical Hollywood moments, but as Sandra Oh proved during her opening monologue, Lady Gaga continues to be a source of meme — and life — inspiration.

During her opening monologue with Andy Samberg, Sandra made reference to a quote that Lady Gaga has frequently used during interviews for A Star Is BornHuffPost pointed out. Taking to the stage, Sandra joked that she “was just coming up with this now,” saying, “There can be a 100 people in the room and 99 don’t believe in you.”

Lady Gaga has frequently used the same line in interviews, saying, “There can be 100 people in a room and 99 of those people won’t believe in you, but you just need one to believe in you.” The quote itself is basically a meme at this point.

Of course, Lady Gaga instantly responded to Sandra’s reference, shouting out, “it’s true.” And thus, our next great meme of 2019 was born.

The clip — which follows in the footsteps of the recent Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dancing meme — quickly earned the seal of approval from social media. The interaction was named the “best part” of the ceremony, and was even declared one user’s “favorite moment of the entire year.”

Others turned the moment into a joke, tweeting, “lady gaga screaming ITS TRUE do you know what it’s like to be in a crowd of people screaming at one person,” and recognized the singer for her perfect timing.

The exchange certainly proved unforgettable, but with Lady Gaga providing past memes including a viral nameplate and a fashionably oversized suit, we’re already expecting more from Mother Monster in 2019. I mean, have you seen her giant robot?!
