Nick Saban might already have a job lined up following his surprising decision to retire.

The former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach informed the program of his intention to call curtains on his career on Wednesday, sending shockwaves through the football world.

“The University of Alabama has been a very special place to Terry and me,” he said in a statement. “We have enjoyed every minute of our 17 years being the head coach at Alabama as well as becoming a part of the Tuscaloosa community. It is not just about how many games we won and lost, but it’s about the legacy and how we went about it.

“We always tried to do it the right way. The goal was always to help players create more value for their future, be the best player they could be and be more successful in life because they were part of the program. Hopefully, we have done that, and we will always consider Alabama our home.”

The 72-year-old may very well opt to kick his feet up and enjoy retirement, but he doesn’t seem the type who would be satisfied with sitting around and doing nothing.

ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ is reportedly looking to have Saban become a contributor on the popular show. He could slot in as a replacement for Lee Corso, whose health is declining. Where The Worldwide Leader in Sports is concerned, adding Saban and easing Corso out would be the perfect scenario.

The likes of Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, and Desmond Howard would undoubtedly love to have the former Alabama HC join them on a regular basis.

Saban has also built some on-screen chemistry with Pat McAfee, having appeared on his show throughout the season.
