Love Island star Anton Danyluk has candidly shared new details about the collapse of his relationship with Georgia Harrison.

The 29-year-old reality star first appeared on Love Island back in 2019 when he was a star on season five of the ITV show – but made a return to the villa this year for an ‘All Stars’ edition of the show. Once back in the villa, Anton fell for 29-year-old Georgia and the pair left the island as a couple – with things seemingly going smoothly once they were back in the UK.

But last month, fans were shocked to learn that the couple had split and are now back on the shelf. Now Anton has opened up on the shock split, discussing the break up for the first time on his podcast titled What’s The Crack – which he co-hosts alongside his mum, Sherrie. While

Anton and Georgia had initially blamed distance as the reason for the end of their romance, it seems there could have been other factors at play.

Furthermore, Anton’s own mum has cast doubt on the power of the failed romance – hinting she thought they would be better off as friends. Speaking on his podcast, Anton explained that there was a lack of true chemistry between him and Georgia.

He explained: “I thought it was be best to talk about it on the podcast so you can hear it from the horse’s mouth. In the press, a source said the distance was the issue, now we were in London every other week so I don’t think distance was the issue. Obviously that wasn’t the case. I just wanted to clear up the whole break up in general. I think it’s we’ve come out of the villa and we tried to give it a fair go but I think it’s fair to say.”

Sherrie weighed in on his words, cutting in to state: “You did see each other quite a lot, but me being your mother I just knew within that it was actually just a rally really good friendship, I think the two of you got more into that friendship with each other.”

Anton didn’t reject Sherrie’s hypothesis – and, indeed, appeared to agree with her. He said: “I just don’t think there was really that romantic spark there. We did both try. At times it was there but just not enough for it to continue as a relationship.”

Sherrie then hinted there was never any real “fire” in the romance, and Anton conceded: “Especially for Georgia, she had so many people on her side wanting it to work for her but it was just never there for her I don’t think.” Then, seemingly taking a swipe at her son’s ex, Sherrie added: “You could see it was never there for Georgia” – but Anton argued as he had tried.

In recent days, Anton and Georgia have appeared to take pot shots at each over via social media posts. Georgia recently shared an image of a couple singing joyously at a concert, having a splash in a pool and dancing together, with a caption reading: “Proof you should marry your best friend.” She added alongside a veiled dig at her ex, writing: “If it ain’t this I don’t want it,” followed by laughter emojis.

While Anton has also been sharing cryptic posts – with fans noticing an undertone to a message he shared during a post-split trip to Italy, He wrote alongside an image taken in Pisa: “When things appear to be falling over, step back and see the beauty in it.”
