The feud carried on as both parties made comments on the matter during press tours and on social media.
Jennifer Lawrence had her fair share of feuds in the time of her career, but few have rarely been as high profile as her butting heads with Fashion Police alum Joan Rivers. The X-Men alum was so frustrated by their feud, that her public admission of it made the whole feud a lot uglier.

The Hunger Games star first stirs the pot when talking about the show, commenting on its beauty standards. She talked about the expectations from the women on the show being unrealistic, which cemented her image, which already played around a positive body image, to begin with.

Speaking with Yahoo, Jennifer Lawrence talked about what exactly the show did that made her uncomfortable, something that frustrated her to no end. She said:
“There are shows like Fashion Police that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people based on all the wrong values and that it’s okay to point at people and call them ugly or fat.”
Lawrence’s arguments against what the show was doing went beyond just her, and no doubt it deepened the feud between her and Joan Rivers. Rivers was quick to respond to Lawrence in a tweet, saying:
“It’s funny how Jennifer Lawrence loved @E_FashionPolice during Awards Season when we were complimenting her every single week,” she tweeted. “But now that she has a movie to promote, suddenly we’re picking on all those poor, helpless actors. It just dawned on me why Jennifer Lawrence fell on the way up to the stage to get her Oscar. She tripped over her own arrogance.”
The feud continued as Lawrence took shots at the way Fashion Police conducted its show, Rivers would retort on Twitter, vowing to show Lawrence how lucky she was.
However, the feud still had both celebrities admiring the other by the end

Despite the feud heating up at the time, it would fizzle out as Lawrence toned down her shots at the show. Rivers too would stop using her social media to respond. However, it must be noted that both sides were still very appreciative of the talent on the other side, with Rivers comparing Lawrence to Mery Streep and complimenting her as an actress.
Lawrence would also go on to have a very candid conversation with Rivers’ daughter, revealing later to the trades that she still loved Joan Rivers. The actress said:
I really do love Joan Rivers. She’s had such an incredible life and is an unbelievable woman. I just am very opinionated, too.
The feud would come to an end completely, with Fashion Police‘s cancelation. Despite the very public feud that lasted a couple of years, the two celebrities had praises to hear from each other despite their odds, signaling a healthy understanding of the fact that the issue is not the person who is raising it, but the issue itself.
