King Charles is still dealing with the fall-out from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to quit the royal family – which ‘threw the king’s plans into disarray’, a royal expert says.
They changed the course of history when they quit as senior royals, and now King Charles is picking up the pieces, the expert says.
Now Richard Eden says the real reason the Sussexes’ ‘California dream’ changed the royals forever has been revealed.
Prince Harry and Meghan chose to give up their important roles for life in California,
says Richard Eden “When King Charles made his plans for a slimmed down monarchy, Prince Harry was a key part of them,” he said.
The Daily Mail columnist continued: “Harry and Meghan’s plans to quit the monarchy has however thrown the King’s plans into disarray.
They are meant to play an important role, sharing duties and patronages with William and Catherine.”
Meanwhile, Meghan is said to have wanted “free handbags from Victoria Beckham before snubbing her”, according to a new biography. Tom Bower’s new book – The House of Beckham: Money, Sex and Power – sheds light on the relationship between the Beckhams and the Sussexes and where it all went wrong.
The former journalist says that the Duchess of Sussex longed to be like the fashionista. Bower describes how Victoria made considerable effort to be friends with Meghan – despite the fact the Suits star “put on airs” when they first met – because of the longstanding relationship between the Beckhams, Prince Harry and Prince William.
According to the book, Meghan allegedly asked the Spice Girls star for free clothes and handbags while engaged to Prince Harry. But the request was “vetoed by the Palace for being against their rules,” Tom claimed.
According to the biography, Victoria kindly offered Meghan tips on where to find the best beauty spots in London – but the relationship between the two women soured when The Sun reported that Victoria had given Meghan makeup advice and the Duchess accused the former Spice Girl of leaking the story.
In the book- which was released June 20 – Bower says that Meghan had ranked herself above the Beckhams in the social pecking order, and was fuming when she discovered that, despite her place in the Royal Family, Victoria actually scored higher in terms of wealth and fame. He explains: “In Meghan’s celebrity world, ranking depended on wealth and fame. As a seasoned operator, Meghan deluded herself that her status in the Royal family placed her above Victoria in the social pecking order.”
Bower continues: “She was irritated to discover that the Beckhams had considerably more wealth than herself. They owned five homes, had constant access to private jets, invitations to sail on yachts and much more money. And she was soon to be a duchess.”
