Prince Harry hasn’t held back when it comes to his criticism of Queen Camilla since he left his royal duties in 2020.
His scathing remarks have left him with a strained relationship with several members of the Royal Family and a source says his harsh words “still bother” his dad, King Charles years later. In his debut memoir, Spare, Harry spoke about his disdain for Camilla and branded her a “villain”.
While Harry described the poor relationship both he and his older brother, Prince William, initially shared with Camilla, William has managed to forge a bond. Harry, meanwhile, hasn’t and the King is said to be “torn” between his second wife and his youngest son.

A source told US Weekly, Camilla is still wary of Harry which has left Charles in a difficult position. They added that Charles continues to hope for a reconciliation between the pair, but is “hugely conflicted” over the situation as “Harry has hurt William and Camilla so much”.
Harry made a brief visit to see his dad earlier this year following the news that the King has cancer. However, during the Duke’s last visit to the UK for an Invictus Games event, the pair didn’t get a chance to meet, showing there are still issues to be resolved.
An expert recently told the Mirror that any welcome back into the Firm for Harry would only occur if he made “cast-iron promises” to his dad. Royal expert Tom Quinn said: “King Charles would love to be closer to Harry and to have a relationship with his son that actually works. But this depends on Harry giving his father cast-iron guarantees that there will be no more books and no more embarrassing interviews.”
However, Quinn said he wasn’t sure if this could play out well as Harry still sees himself as a “victim” in the whole situation. “Harry still feels that he is the victim and that his family need to make promises to him, not the other way round,” Quinn added.
