Known affectionately as ‘Downhill Charly,’ Kahr passed away on April 27 at the age of 91.

Schwarzenegger, a seven-time Mr. Olympia, shared his personal connection with Kahr, revealing that the late coach was not only an influential figure in the world of skiing but also a cherished friend and mentor to him. “Charly Kahr was an Austrian skiing legend.

Besides being a fantastic coach for the Austrian ski team, he was a great friend and ski instructor to me,” Schwarzenegger wrote in his heartfelt note.
