Film icon and former bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger was recently seen in Elora, a quaint town near Guelph in southern Ontario, filming scenes for the next season of the Netflix series “FUBAR.”
The town hall of Elora served as one of the key backdrops for the series, known under the decoy name “Oink” during production to keep the filming under wraps.
Schwarzenegger, who portrays Luke Brunner, a CIA operative concealing his true profession from his daughter in the series, continues to charm audiences with his return to action-packed roles.
His character’s life turns tumultuous when he discovers that his daughter, played by Monica Barbaro, is also a CIA agent, leading to an unexpected partnership.
The filming in Elora included significant preparations, with road closures around the Municipal Office at 1 MacDonald Square from early morning until late evening to accommodate the production schedule.
The production, spanning from April 29 to August 12, 2024, marks a busy period for Schwarzenegger, especially after his recent health updates about his pacemaker implantation.
Despite concerns from fans, Schwarzenegger reassured them via Instagram that his health condition would not hinder his performance in the upcoming season.
“FUBAR,” which debuted its first season on Netflix in 2023, is set to continue its blend of action and comedy, drawing fans into the chaotic and humorous world of the Brunners’ spy life.
While the production is shrouded in secrecy, past filming locations have included Mississauga, Oakville, and parts of Belgium.
As “FUBAR” season two progresses, it remains to be seen where the production will head next, but the excitement around Schwarzenegger’s involvement promises to keep fans eagerly anticipating the series’ return.
