It has been a rocky first few months of the year for Ernest Lynn, the son of the late country music legend Loretta Lynn.

The 69-year-old seemed to show signs of improvement following an emergency surgery earlier in the year, but his wife, Crystal Lynn, took to Facebook Tuesday night saying that he has back in the hospital.
“More issues have presented themselves, and although ‘pretty routine’ for the doctors, it’s very scary for us,” Crystal Lynn wrote.
While Crystal Lynn said her husband was going to have a procedure Wednesday morning to address the issues, the wife expressed her fears at what could come next.
“We’re scared of the possibility that this could become pretty serious pretty quickly…..however it would be more serious if we ignored it,” she wrote. “We are scared in general because everyone has lost someone that they love due to this issue…. However I am here tonight to declare: NOT TODAY!”
“I am here to speak into fruition that my husband WILL get through this procedure(s) with flying colors….that our God Almighty WILL protect him, then He WILL HEAL him quickly and completely, thus allowing him to feel better than he has in years,” she continued.
She ended the post by thanking people for their friendship, support and prayers.
Ernest Lynn underwent “a critical surgery as a result of kidney failure,” at the end of January, according to a post on Loretta Lynn’s Instagram.
In a Facebook post from on Jan. 23, Crystal Lynn explained that two weeks prior, her husband underwent an operation “regarding his kidney failure and dialysis needs that didn’t yield good results.”
Because of that, Ernest Lynn had to undergo another operation that day.
“It is a lifesaving and life sustaining operation, so we desperately need it to work this time so that they don’t have to take more drastic measures,” Crystal Lynn added.
At the end of February, Crystal Lynn shared pictures of the couple on Facebook of her and her husband on their “first bike ride of the season,” showing that the 69-year-old was recovering well. However, last month, it was shared that Ernest Lynn was in need of a kidney transplant and had been waiting for a donor.
“Today is a REALLY important day for Ernie regarding his health and his transplant journey,” Crystal Lynn wrote on Facebook on April 3.
“We would appreciate your prayers asking for God’s influence and favor so that Ernie may receive approval for this procedure, as a new kidney would drastically improve his quality of life, length of life, and of course his emotional and mental health,” Crystal continued. “He’s got so much life to live and so much love to give and I know that he will continue to grow with God and serve His purpose. Thank you all….God bless you all.”
