All of sudden Marshall shoots out a series of social media posts, and not all of them are promotional.
The one about curating Audio Mac playlist is evidently a planned promo campaign. The collaboration itself was planned in advance and posts with a following announcement are featured both on Eminem’s X (Twitter) feed and Instagram with slightly differently organised captions. Here is his Instagram post:
Bro Wayne just said “got a bunch of zeros like a bag of new funyuns!!” FUCK why didn’t I think of that????
Speakin of bars… im takin over 4 @audiomack’s art of bars playlist nxt month – hit the link in bio to submit and im adding whoevers got the best bars!
Meanwhile, on Twitter the section about Lil Wayne was posted separately, giving a more personal vibe and being focused on lyrics and craft and it got so much more attention that that AudioMac promo that was posted separately:
Bro Wayne just said “got a bunch of zeros like a bag of new funyuns!!” FUCK why didn’t I think of that????
Marshall is talking, and it sounds sincere, about Wayne’s verse from the track recorded for YG and Tyga’s joint album called “Hit Me When U Leave The Klub: The Playlist”. The track is called “Brand New” and Lil Wayne focus his verse on finding new engaging ways to describe his wealth and signs of success. The line, to which Eminem refers in his post, compares the amount of zeros in Wayne’s account to a bag of onion rings “Funyuns”:
Brand new money, brand new hundreds
Got a bunch of zeros like a bag of new Funyuns
A funny story, Lil Wayne does have one zero more than Eminem, as his wealth is estimated at 170 million, while Marshall’s estimations got up to 550 million.
So, these posts merged business and craft that goes hand in hand when we talk about showbusiness. But then, five hours later, Em suddenly drops another post, insipired by his passion for sports and local teams. On September 28, the Detroit Lions faced the Green Bay Packers and won over with the score of 34-20. Em’s tweet was both encouraging and triumphant:
Let’s fucking go!!!! Detroit @Lions
Overall, it was un unusual burst of activity from a famouse hip hop recluse that made some fans think that maybe, just maybe, something more can come out of the Shady camp soon.
