Game of Thrones fans are going back to this picture of stars Jason Momoa and Emilia Clarke following news of Momoa’s split from Lisa Bonet after 16 years together.
The Aquaman actor broke the heartbreaking news this week in an emotional statement on Instagram.
And while fans of Jason are devastated, some already have their hopes up for a potential Game of Thrones coupling.
The post in question dates back to August 2021, and shows Emilia and Jason posing together at the birthday party of Game of Thrones co-creator David Benioff.
In two of the photos, Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen on the HBO show, is sitting on Jason’s lap.
In another, Jason has hoisted Emilia off the ground and is carrying her in his arms as the pair laugh.
At the time, Jason captioned the photo: “MOON OF MY LIFE. you are wonderful love u forever @emilia_clarke.”
While there is absolutely no indication that the two former co-stars have any romantic links, their fans are not-so-secretly hoping that they might end up together in the future.
Going back to the old Instagram post, Jason’s followers took to the comments to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “Friends in love. I hope you follow ur heart”
“Omg u guys are like perfect!”, commented another.
“Why did we all come here ” asked a third.
On Game of Thrones, Jason played Khal Drogo, the chieftain of a Dothraki khalasar and Daenerys’ husband.
Off camera, the two actors formed a strong friendship and speak very highly of each other in interviews.
In an interview on The Graham Norton Show back in 2019, Jason revealed that he makes it a priority to visit Emilia every time he visits the UK.

It was only this Thursday that Jason announced he and Lisa Bonet were going their separate ways.
He wrote: “A revolution is unfolding ~ and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so ~ We share our Family news ~ That we are parting ways in marriage.
“We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy ~ But so that ~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty.”
Jason and Lisa had been together for 16 years and married in 2017. They have two children together, a daughter, Lola, and son, Nakoa-Wolf.
