LeSean McCoy, the Super Bowl-winning running back, has found himself in a financial quandary after losing a quarter-million-dollar bet on the outcome of the boxing match between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia. Despite his confident wager on HaneyGarcia emerged victorious in a majority decision, leaving McCoy to rue his decision.

Before the fight commenced, McCoy was vocal in his support for Haney, but as the match unfolded, his hopes were dashed. Despite losing a significant sum of money, McCoy took the defeat in good spirits, humorously acknowledging his loss by stating, “lol damn win some lose some I just got cooooked.”

Garcia handed Haney an unexpected defeat. After months of antics and an alleged mental breakdown, the challenger soundly defeated the WBC super lightweight champion this past Saturday in a highly anticipated bout at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

McCoy is an experienced gambler

This setback, however, has not dampened McCoy’s spirits, as he is no stranger to both winning and losing in the realm of sports betting. During this year’s Super BowlMcCoy placed a $100,000 bet on the Kansas City Chiefs.

The former Chief cited the wisdom of never betting against coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. His gamble paid off handsomely as the Chiefs secured victory over the San Francisco 49ers in a thrilling contest.

Despite his recent loss, McCoy remains optimistic about his betting future, especially with the Chiefs aiming for a third consecutive Super Bowl win.

McCoy wasn’t the only one frustrated by Garcia’s victory

McCoy’s experience serves as a reminder that in the world of sports betting, fortunes can change swiftly, and it’s always wise to consider all possibilities before placing a bet.

McCoy wasn’t alone in his betting misfortune, as UFC star Israel Adesanya also suffered a significant loss after betting on Haney to win. Adesanya, who had publicly supported Haney leading up to the fight, even flaunted his $20,000 bet on Haney to win by knockout to his millions of followers on social media.
