AMERICAN Idol judge Katy Perry has snapped at Luke Bryan after he called out contestant Mia Matthews for a lyrics mistake.

Luke, 47, was the first judge to provide feedback after Mia rocked that stage with her rendition of the Shania hit.
“So you met Shania and now we’ve gotten rid of the guitar… we got you moving around the stage dancing,” the country music star joked.
He told the singer that he loves the “commercial-ability” that Mia will eventually have in the world of country music.
“Now I just think it’s about you getting comfortable being a bunch of different characters within country [music],” Luke added.
The Idol judge compared Mia to another country-pop artist as he told the singer that her performance gave him “Kelsea Ballerini vibes,” much to the delight of the contestant.
He then dropped the bomb as he added, “And I know you may have forgotten the words a couple of times but–”
Katy, 39, then angrily interrupted, “Nobody needed to know that!”
Luke laughed and began singing the lyrics from Mia’s song, “Nobody needed to know right now!”
“She was acting so well,” the Dark Horse singer continued.
“You blew her spot up!” she added.

Katy laid into Luke while also throwing shade at Mia as she yelled, “Besides every Shania fan in the world, no one knows!”
“Well I know all the words of Shania,” Luke clapped back.
Recently, Katy took a swing at Luke after he spoke highly of a contestant’s rendition of one of the pop singer’s greatest hits.
Contestant Roman Collins sang a gospel rendition of Katy’s song, Roar.

He received a standing ovation from the judges and even got a hug from the Roar singer after his performance.
“That was a Katy Perry song that was so full of church, soul, and power. Your roaring was amazing,” fellow Idol judge Lionel Richie said at the time.
Katy revealed that her parents are a big fan of Roman, “They text me about you and they’re like ‘Roman! Yes! Praise Jesus!’
She also teased her potential return to music, “I hope you don’t mind if I try that version out on the next tour.”
Luke jokingly responded, “Good Luck,” which resulted in Katy pretending to hit Luke as he flinched away from her strike.
BRAND NEW HAIRDO
On Saturday, Shania debuted a new hair color ahead of her American Idol appearance.
The Queen of Country Pop revealed the hairdo in an Instagram Story video promoting the popular singing competition.
In the video, Shania, donned a sleek, form-fitting zip-up top with pearl adornments and matching black pants.
The country music legend smiled at the camera as she told her fans, “Hi, I’m Shania Twain and I’m mentoring tonight on American Idol.”
The You’re Still The One singer sported platinum blonde hair in the American Idol promo, a far cry from the brunette look fans have become used to.
She parted her light blonde locks down the middle and allowed her shoulder-length hair to fall naturally above her chest.
American Idol posted a video on Instagram with Shania and all the female contestants saying “Let’s go!” ahead of Sunday’s episode.
Fans revealed they were surprised by Shania’s new look in the post’s comment section with one person writing, “Can’t even recognize her..she looks totally different.”
“Gotta love Shania. Not so sure about the hair, though. Let’s Go Girls!!” commented another.
“Who was the first blonde girl?” a third fan questioned.
“Shania Twain,” replied another, to which the fan responded, “Thank you I had no idea!! She looks so different with light hair.”
DOUBLE TAKE
Meanwhile, Katy stunned in a video taken on the American Idol set but fans couldn’t stop talking about what she carried in her purse.
In the video, Katy was shown singing to Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso while approaching the American Idol set.
The Last Friday Night singer sported a casual look consisting of a white button-up and denim jeans.
Katy carried an iced coffee in one hand and held her purse and doggy bag – which secured her micro teacup poodle Nugget – with the other.
She briefly posed in front of an American Idol billboard before the video transitioned and captured Katy stepping out of her wardrobe trailer wearing a maroon gown.
The dress featured a leather corset and a lower portion made from a different fabric that was designed with a high slit to show off the singer’s legs.
While Nugget was nowhere to be seen, Katy still had a coffee in hand as she walked down the steps and showed off her side-swept hairdo.
In the post’s comment section, one fan wrote, “Oh my God! Now that I’ve noticed Nugget in your bag!”
