Emily Blunt has revealed that she’s a Swiftie, but her and John Krasinski’s daughter Hazel, 10, is on another level. When the pair got a chance to meet Taylor Swift, Blunt revealed that Hazel nearly fainted after the pop star gave her the sweetest compliment.

“She’s the nicest,” Blunt told Howard Stern on the April 29 episode of his namesake talk show. “She was so nice to my kids. My oldest kid has just cut all of her hair off, this very short haircut that she was very self-conscious about. And Taylor Swift, goes like, ‘God, look at you, you’re just this ‘60s Beatnik cool kid. I love your style.’”

“I thought my child was going to faint,” The Devil Wears Prada star remembered of the moment. “It was the best thing anyone has done for my child.” Further gushing about the “Fortnight” singer, Blunt added, “She’s very cool.”

Blunt has previously expressed her admiration for Taylor Swift. During the promotion of her latest movie with Ryan Gosling, “Fall Guy,” she mentioned that “Cruel Summer” holds a special place as her favorite Swift track. Blunt proudly revealed herself as a “colossal” Swiftie, although she humorously acknowledged that she might not reach the level of fandom displayed by her daughter. She quipped, “Isn’t everyone?”

During a recent episode of “Saturday Night Live,” Blunt and Gosling delighted audiences with a humorous rendition of Swift’s “All Too Well.” Swift herself expressed her approval of the performance, sharing a clip of the duo’s rendition on social media with the caption “All Too Well (Ryan and Emily’s Version) !!!” Swift jokingly added that audiences might catch her accidentally singing their version during her own tour. She praised the SNL monologue, calling it “EVERYTHING.”

In the latest edition of celebrities being just like the rest of us, Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are the latest stars to confess their love for Taylor Swift — and shared which of the superstar singers tracks rank no. 1 for them. Yesterday, The Fall Guy co-stars spoke to Fandango’s Nikki Novak alongside the film’s director, David Leitch, and stunt doubles Ben Jenkins and Logan Holladay, and the topic of Swift came up when Novak asked Gosling whether he or his character, stuntman Colt Seavers, was “the bigger Swiftie.”

“Ryan Gosling,” he answered, bevore Blunt added, “Oh my God, yeah. Who isn’t?”

Novak made a valiant effort and asked Gosling about his favorite Taylor Swift song, to which he revealed that “All Too Well” currently holds a special place in his heart. While he didn’t specify whether he listens to Swift’s 2021 re-release, the 10-minute “Taylor’s Version” from Red (Taylor’s Version), any self-proclaimed Swiftie would undoubtedly prefer it that way.

Blunt, on the other hand, opted for a different track, noting that “‘Cruel Summer’ is pretty high up there for me.”

When The Fall Guy‘s trailer dropped during this year’s Super Bowl (it’s inspired by the 1980s TV show of the same name, according to People), fans got a glimpse of Gosling’s character singing and crying to “All Too Well.” Blunt’s character responds by asking him “Have you been crying to Taylor Swift?”

In an interview with the publication regarding the upcoming film at SXSW this year, Blunt shared insights into her role as director Jody Moreno, drawing from her real-life experiences working with her husband, actor and director John Krasinski.

“I am married to a director, I know what it’s like to hold the tempest of the movie in your head and the pressures and being pulled in a million directions,” she explained. “I liked her eccentricity, I liked her humanity. She was fun to me. I just loved her. I like that we didn’t do the sort of earnest, serious director. I was keen to show somebody in a situation where she was way over her head and yet she’s incredible and talented.”

The Fall Guy arrives in theaters on May 3.
