Hot new: Caitlin Clark’s Absurd High School Soccer Stats Are Going Viral

Caitlin Clark của Bang Iowa giành chiến thắng trong trận mở màn March Madness trong khi trọng tài bị loại trong trận đấu NC State-Chattanooga do 'xung đột nền'

If you haven’t heard by now, Indiana Fever guard and recent No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft, Caitlin Clark, is the most polarizing athlete in sports.

She has shattered record after record whether it be college basketball’s all-time scoring record, jersey sales, or attracting a record amount of viewership during games or the recent draft. However, all of her success on the hardwood could have been channeled into a different sport had she taken more of a liking to it.

In a social media post that has since gone viral over the past few days, it was revealed that Clark was a dominant force on the soccer pitch. Fans dug up her stats and learned that she scored an astounding 23 goals in 13 games as a freshman.

She was named all-state, and her high school coach was confident that she could have played Division 1 soccer.

“She was D-I material in soccer, easily,” Her high school coach told Chad Leistikow of the Des Moines Register in February. “She did have a way to go, but if she would have stayed in soccer and made that her No. 1 sport …“

Her father, who as we all know can be quite critical of Clark, after he went viral for telling her to shut up during her NCAA Tournament game against Holy Cross, went as far as to say she could have played for the national team.

“Quite frankly, and I’m not trying to brag about it, but I think she probably could have been the same sort of talent in soccer that she is in basketball,” Brent Clark told Leistikow. “She could have been on USA, junior-national type teams.”

However, once her basketball recruitment picked up during her junior year she decided it was time to hang up the cleats.

It turned out to be a pretty smart decision, but now that we know just how dominant of a force she was as a work in progress, it’s hard not to think of what she could have been. Clark will make her WNBA debut on May 3.
