Hot: Shared in interview with Tom Brady: Mahomes is on the verge of making his own history

Tom Brady, the most legendary player in the history of the NFL, winner of seven rings with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, spoke to MARCA in the run-up to the Laureus Awards gala on Monday night, where he will play a prominent role.

Question: How would you define what you experienced on Sunday at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu?

Answer: It [attending El Clasico] was very exciting, it was amazing. I hadn’t seen a football match for a long time and it was really good. It was an amazing stadium and I really enjoyed it.

Q: When you went down to the dressing room, did you meet any specific players?

A: Yes, I met Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Jude [Bellingham], Vini, Toni [Rudiger]… they are a great team and I loved the way they celebrated the victory and the atmosphere in the dressing room.

Q: Is it a stadium on par with NFL stadiums?

A: It’s a great stadium. A lot of work has been done to transform an old stadium into a new stadium and it’s a great experience. It’s amazing, the crowd is very loud, it’s got fantastic technology. I love it.

Q: What is the secret of your success, perhaps discipline?

A: The number of great teammates I’ve had. And also the coaches. Then I put all my will, my energy, my enthusiasm into everything I did. But I repeat that it was the team that led me to achieve a great personal career and seven rings. I was always in great teams.

A: I’m excited. The Americans are obviously going to have a bit of an advantage, but it will be fun to watch other teams fight for the gold medal.

Q: Would you put Patrick Mahomes in the top five quarterbacks of all time?

A: He’s had a great start in the NFL and is certainly on track to make his own history.
