Angel Reese is no stranger to the high life despite only just securing her first big contract in the WNBA, and she celebrated her next step into professional basketball with an eye-catching purchase.

The basketball star, 21, was the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, choosing to join Chicago Sky after being snubbed by the Washington Mystics.

By securing a long-term contract with Chicago worth over $324,000, Reese is now stepping up her earnings on the court as well as away from it. And the 6ft 3in power forward clearly felt she needed to celebrate with a new car to drive around in.

On Tuesday, Reese showed off her latest purchase on social with an image of her and her new white Mercedes. The AMG G-Class car, known more commonly as a ‘G Wagon’, is popular amongst celebrities and is one of the most expensive SUVs on the market.

It represents a huge chunk of Reese’s yearly salary, however, as she is set to earn $73,349 in her first year of playing for Chicago. Some might be wondering how the former LSU star is able to afford such an extravagant car, which is worth more than double her first year’s salary alone.

How Angel Reese became a millionaire

The difference between Reese and her other college graduates is that she was early to securing endorsements when she made it to the NCAA.

According to Marketing Partnerships’ 2023-24 report, she had the second-most NIL endorsements over the past year with 26 deals, with companies such as PlayStation, Raising Canes, McDonald’s, Coach, Wingstop, Outback Steakhouse and Amazon.

She also signed a multi-year deal with sticker giant Panini, helping them create memorabilia for the rising WNBA. From those endorsements alone, she is estimated to have earned close to $1.7million and could soon hit the $2m mark.

In October 2023, Reebok and the basketball star announced their partnership in a light-hearted Instagram post. The caption read: “Reebok x Angel Reese – We’re proud to announce a new partnership with college hoops star @angelreese10.”

Even if Caitlin Clark is the name on everyone’s lips, Reese is proving she is one of the most marketable figures in the league.
