Season 3 of Amazon’s Invincible is now in production, so fans won’t have to wait as long between episodes according to the latest promise from showrunner Simon Racioppa.

Based on the comic book written by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the first season of the Invincible animated television series  debuted on March 25, 2021, and ran for eight episodes, concluding on  April 29, 2021.

It was over two years until the second season debuted on November 3, 2023. But the second season until stuck around initially for a short time as it was broken into two parts, with the show going on hiatus from late-November to mid-March. The last episode of season 2 wraps up the season next week on April 4, 2024.

At times, it seemed liked Invincible was just one long, unbearable waiting period between moments of insane animated action.

However, Showrunner Simon Racioppa has assured fans that the wait for season 2 won’t be as long as it has been in previous seasons, as you can see by the duration of the pauses between them.

Speaking to The Direct, he stated, “Amazon picked up two and three together. So, we are deep in Season 3 at this point. So I can’t tell you exactly [when], but I can tell you it will not be the same wait between [seasons] 1 and 2… We’re well in progress on Season 3, and it’s coming along great.

While avoiding specifics, Racioppa also provided a teaser for what’s in store for Mark and the rest of the Invincible crew in season 3.

“Half the fun of Season 3 is like, ‘Oh my God, we have to deal with all the stuff that happened in Season 2 and all that ramifications of that, all of the reverberations of that, all the trauma from that’ And how does that change our characters going forward? So that’s really fun because we have these new challenges for our characters in Season 3… So it’s like, how do we keep all the previous seasons still relevant and in our minds, and in our character’s minds when we go forward? So that’s super fun and exciting.”
