Good Morning Britain’s regular viewers were thrown for a loop this Friday (May 3) when they tuned in to find the usual presenting duo had been switched up.
The ITV morning staple typically sees Kate Garraway and Adil Ray taking the helm on Fridays, but in a surprising twist, Susanna Reid and Ed Balls were the ones greeting the nation.
While Kate did eventually pop up to deliver a news update, Adil was noticeably absent. With Susanna usually anchoring the show from Monday through Wednesday, the unexpected change prompted a flurry of confusion on X (formerly Twitter ), with fans scratching their heads over what day it was.
One viewer reached out to Susanna directly, asking: “Is it Monday? ? Strange to see you on a Friday. Another expressed their disorientation: “You have so confused me being on this morning, just panicked thought what day is it.”, reports the Daily Star. Others chimed in with similar
sentiments, one tweeting: “Have I slept over the whole weekend and woke up Monday? That looks like Susanna.” Someone else queried: “Why is Susanna Reid on Friday? Kate will be p****d off.”

Meanwhile, another fan was delighted: “Such a treat to have an extra helping of Susanna on a Friday morning.”
Later on, when Kate made her appearance, it wasn’t just the presenting shake-up that caught viewers’ attention her outfit also turned heads. Sporting a shiny purple blouse paired with high-waisted trousers of the same hue, the 56 year old’s fashion choice sparked a buzz on X, with some likening her look to a Quality Street chocolate.
“I can see which chocolate Kate pick’s in the Quality Street tin,” jested one fan. Another added: “Kate Garraway camouflaged as a Quality Street chocolate this morning.”
One viewer questioned: “Why is Kate dressed like the purple one from the Quality street tin? ” And another echoed: “Did Kate decide to come in as a Quality Street? “.
