It appears Ben Affleck isn’t quite ready to hang up the Batman cape.

On Thursday, DC Entertainment star Jason Momoa shared a series of photos that suggested Affleck would reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming Aquaman sequel.

“REUNITED Bruce and Arthur,” Momoa wrote, referencing his and Affleck’s DC characters. “Love u and miss u Ben. WB studio tours just explored the backlot alright … all great things coming AQUAMAN 2.”

Momoa also shared a couple of Instagram stories in which he spoke to a group a fans on a WB studio tour.

“It’s not a fucking secret anymore, is it?” he said with a laugh. “That’s what happens, Warner Brothers, when you walk out of your set and there’s our fans [back stage].”

He then took his camera inside a trailer, where he gave followers a brief glimpse at Affleck.

Affleck first played the Caped Crusader in 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and reprised the role in 2017’s Justice League, co-starring Momoa as Aquaman/Arthur Curry. Affleck’s Batman is also expected to appear in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash, which was expected to be his DCEU swan song.

Affleck discussed his decision to leave Batman during an Entertainment Weekly interview with Matt Damon.

“I looked at (directing Batman) and thought, ‘I’m not going to be happy doing this. The person who does this should love it,’” he recalled. “You’re supposed to always want these things, and I probably would have loved doing it at 32 or something. But it was the point where I started to realize it’s not worth it. It’s just a wonderful benefit of reorienting and recalibrating your priorities that once it started being more about the experience, I felt more at ease. In fact, I talked to you about it and you were a principal influence on that decision. I want to do the things that would bring me joy.”

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to hit theaters in March 2023.
