Julia Roberts rarely puts a foot wrong on the red carpet and her feet must have been feeling extra festive on Wednesday as she stepped out in a pair of ‘tinsel’ shoes.
The American actress, 56, wore a baby pink suit with matching shorts and a choker necklace, from jewellery brand Chopard, for the screening of her new movie Leave The World Behind in London.
However, it was her footwear that received the most attention leaving many people conflicted over whether they loved or hated the unusual shoes.

Julia completed her glamorous look with a pair of eye-catching heels from Gucci’s spring 2024 collection. So exclusive are the shoes that they are not yet available to buy and have not even been given a price tag.
The funky pair of kitten heels featured fringe embroidery which created a sparkly tinsel effect (it is Christmas season after all) which covered the heel completely.

Why does Julia have tinsel shoes on?’ asked one perplexed person after seeing snaps from the red carpet. While someone else tweeted: ‘When you want to look at the delightful diamonds but sadly all you see are the shoes!’

Julia’s new film is a psychological thriller which is based on the 2020 novel of the same name by Rumaan Alam. It also stars Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke and Kevin Bacon. She was joined by Sam Esmail, who directed the Netflix movie.

Earlier this week Julia shared a rare glimpse of family life, putting up a photo of herself with her twins Hazel and Phinneas as babies to mark their 19th birthday on Tuesday.
