Royal expert Ingrid Seward weighed in on Queen Camilla’s break
QUEEN Camilla has jetted away on holiday and is taking a break from official duties after holding the fort since the King announced his cancer diagnosis.
King Charles, 75, is said to have “insisted” his wife, 76, have some time off, and a royal expert claims we can learn about his health from the decision.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief for Majesty Magazine told Fabulous: “It sends out the vital message that all is well in the slimmed down monarchy.
“Charles knows how important it is to be visible.
“He has made a point of being seen albeit not in public places.
“It puts the public at ease and reassures everyone that it’s ok for the Queen to have her break.”
The royal expert added: “The responsibility of ‘being in charge’ while he stays in the background has been in her capable hands. She has done brilliantly.
“Charles is incredibly grateful.
“Now he is responding well to his cancer treatment, the time was right for Camilla to have her pampered break for a week.
“The King insisted she went and took the opportunity to recharge her batteries, which she will certainly do.”
Camilla is said to have jetted away on a private flight for a sunshine break overseas.
Camilla was the last key royal standing last week — as even Prince Andrew returned to the spotlight for a gathering at Windsor.
Ingrid, who is the author of the royal book My Mother I, added: “For Camilla, as it would be for most women, getting dressed up and made up to look your best on a daily basis takes quite an effort.
“Meeting and greeting and always being one’s charming best all takes energy.
“If Queen Camilla had been in her twenties when she married Charles she would have adapted.
How Charles bravely revealed diagnosis to help others
KING Charles has bravely broken with royal protocol by sharing his cancer diagnosis.
Senior royals have in the past been tight-lipped about their health battles.
The last top royal diagnosed with cancer was Charles’s grandfather George VI.
Heavy smoker George had his left lung removed for “structural abnormalities” in September 1951, months before he died.
The “abnormalities” were actually a life-threatening carcinoma, but the public never learned about George’s cancer ordeal.
Buckingham Palace said Charles wanted to share his cancer diagnosis to boost “public understanding” for cancer patients worldwide.
“But being in her late fifties and being thrust into the limelight was extremely challenging and she was not always in the best of health.
“So, King Charles takes care of her as she does of him.”
Camilla is due to be back in action on March 11, and will represent King Charles at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.
A royal source told The Times: “Although she was not expecting to find herself in the position of leading the family, the Queen is absolutely prepared to do whatever needs to be done for the institution.
“She has found reserves of energy that even she didn’t think she had, and the estimation of her by those inside the palace has soared as she has put her shoulder to the wheel.”
It comes after a week of crisis for the royals as they faced the difficulty of coping without the King, William and Kate — amid wild conspiracy theories surrounding the latter.
Kate, 42, has not been seen publicly since Christmas Day – although she was spotted out with her mum Carole yesterday – and is still recovering after abdominal surgery in January.
William, 41, had to pull out of the Windsor tribute to his godfather, Greece’s late King Constantine, on Tuesday due to a “personal matter”.
Camilla has carried out 13 official engagements since last month.
She has carried on with her own diary and attended events solo where she was due to have been with her husband.
Last week, she led the family at the memorial service for King Constantine in St George’s Chapel.
It was followed by her hosting a reception for hundreds of guests.
Charles, 75, has started treatment for his cancer and was advised by doctors to cancel front line duties.
The shock announcement came just eight days after he was released from hospital following a “corrective procedure” for an enlarged prostate.
But it remains unclear when Charles will be able to resume full-time public appearances.
