Are you scared of snakes? Itâs super fair if you are, but you donât have to worry. Megan Thee Stallion is here to protect you. (Or maybe sheâs here to send them after you if you betray her? I donât entirely get the vibe, so use your own best judgement.)
On May 3, nail art extraordinaire Megan Thee Stallion shared an ultra-cool new manicure thatâs putting the charm in âsnake charmer.â And the snake!! She first showed off the design via Instagram in an emoji-code captioned post: eyeballs, snake, video game console.
Set in a bright color palette I can only compare to this neon marker set, each stiletto nail features a different 3D design, with most containing a tiny reptilian-looking eyeball dead center. While the base shade is purple chrome, other elements and intricacies somehow steal the show: swirls of neon green and orange, gemstone scales, you get the vision.

Next to the nails, the 29-year-oldâs post showcases a bright yellow wig with blunt bangs and an array of (fake?) video games that feature our heroine. Instead of Playstationâs âPSâ logo, we get a similar looking âMS,â with the word âPLAYSTATIONâ replaced by âMTSTALLION.â The game itself is called âBOA: Curse of Thee Serpent Woman,â and each iteration shows different cover art of Megan posing with a big snake.

The whole thing is a nod to the character Boa Hancock from the anime/manga One Piece (the only female warlord of the sea) who Megan also pays homage to in her outfit and hairstyle. âShawty got that One Piece knowledge and no one even realize thatâs what she posting bout,â commented a fan, while others quickly guessed that the rapperâs next single will be called âBoa.â
And because this is Megan Thee Stallion, a single wild mani just wasnât enough. In the last photo in the set, she shows off another set: long nude stiletto talons with some negative space gold chrome swirls and tips. Both designs were most likely the work of her regular nail artist, Coca Michelle.

Thereâs no word if or when the game or potential song will be released, so if you want to embrace the vision youâll have to do something else entirely: call your nail artist, and make sure they have neons in stock.

Megan Thee Stallion slithered onto the Billboard Hot 100 late last year with âCobra,â her first independent single since leaving her previous record label. She kicked off this year by making a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live last week to perform âNot My Fault,â her collab with Mean Girls star ReneĂ© Rapp. Now, the Grammy-winning rapper is back with her second serpentine solo single, âHiss.â
The track marks Meganâs first single of the year and points to a new, snake-themed direction for the Houston-bred MC. The Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree teased âCobraâ as âAct Oneâ of a new era as she shed the skin of the past and moved into the next phase of her life. Meganâs highly anticipated third studio albumâand first as an independent artistâseems to be well on its way, and âHissâ serves as another taste of whatâs to come for the hit-making rapper.
Lyrically, âHissâ is complete 180 from the more honest âCobraâ and serves as a warning to anyone who stands in her way. She makes that clear from the beginning of the song. âI just wanna kick this sât off by saying, âFâk yâall!â I ainât gotta clear my name on a motherfâkinâ thing. Every time I get mentioned, one of yâall bâh aâ nâas get 24 hours of attention,â she declared as she kicked off the track. âIâm finna get this sât off my chest and lay it to rest. Letâs go!â No one is safe from Meganâs aim throughout her rapid-fire verses, from men she wants to leave in the past to haters who donât want to see her succeed. âEver since I claimed the summer, all you bâhes want a season / Ask a hâ why she donât like me, bet she canât give you a reason,â she raps.
With two sharp-tongued singles in the books, a snake theme seems to have been the right choice for Meganâs next chapter.
