One Piece is set to become even more exciting with this month’s reveal of the new and official MONOPOLY®: One Piece Edition. Playing into the anime’s themes of friendship, alliances and betrayal, the classic board game’s special edition is now available to purchase for fans in the U.S.
Via a press release, Monopoly’s MONOPOLY®: One Piece Edition from The Op board game takes fans to Dressrosa in the New World, dividing players into three teams: the Factory Destruction & Samurai Rescue Team, the Caesar Delivery Team and the Thousand Sunny Guard Team. The game supports 2-6 players from ages 8+. Readers can head to The Op’s website for purchase, currently offering up to 15% off its $44 MSRP (as of May 9, 2024). Monopoly’s One Piece Edition Includes an Exclusive Game Board and Special Series Tokens
The One Piece Monopoly game lets players “Buy, sell and trade iconic characters from the series including Franky, Kinemon, Fighting Bull and Leo.” It also “features an exclusive, custom gameboard with nine special tokens representing characters from the series, such as Monkey D. Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Robin, Brook, and more.” Players are tasked with “winning over Koala and One-Legged Soldier to your side” with Chest and Flag cards rewarding or bringing “an unexpected surprise.”
Monopoly Has Also Collaborated With Anime Like Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball
One Piece joins numerous other Monopoly collaborations with popular anime series, including Naruto, Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, My Hero Academia and Pokémon, the latter version of which ranks highly among CBR’s 15 Best Versions Of Monopoly, Ranked. Anime and game tie-ins remain a popular way of combining fandom and fun, with Shueisha’s official Jujutsu Kaisen board game, in addition to Demon Slayer‘s Mario Party-inspired board game taking the fun to Nintendo Switch in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Sweep the Board!. Last month, Nintendo Switch also confirmed the release date for One Piece Odyssey.
