Fishman Island’s destruction is inevitable, with Luffy set to be responsible.
The sinking of the world in One Piece is confirmed, leading to chaos.
Luffy could bring down the Red Line and save the Fishmen in the future.
The destruction of Fishman Island is an intriguing plot point that is yet to be resolved in One Piece. This plot was first introduced by Oda during the Fishman Island Arc, where a lot of the residents of the place deemed Luffy an enemy due to Madame Shyarly’s prediction. Of course, her predictions are never wrong, which means at some point later down the line, Luffy will be responsible for the destruction of Fishman Island.
Based on the recent events in the Final Saga of the series, there might be more context now as to how this destruction could come about once the Great War begins.
The Fishman Island Destruction Prophecy And The Noah
Madam Shyarly’s Prediction Will Eventually Come True
The destruction of Fishman Island is inevitable. At some point in the series, Fishman Island will be utterly destroyed and the person responsible for this destruction is going to be none other than the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy. When Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates arrived on Fishman Island, Oda made it immediately clear that at some point later down the line, Luffy would end up becoming a threat to the people there. While this was hard to believe for the fans at first, Oda did well to highlight the fact that Madam Sharley’s predictions are always right.
By his hands, Fishman Island will be destroyed.
How exactly she does it is still unknown, however, she has been blessed with this incredible power to see the future and the prediction is always accurate. She clearly saw Luffy destroying Fishman Island at some point later down the line, and even though she dismisses this prediction herself, deep down, she knows that Luffy will bring about this utter destruction. Of course, fans know Luffy to be an individual who would never destroy someone’s country, and this seems to be the exact opposite of what his character is. However, there can be more context attached to this destruction that fans need to keep in mind.
For one, fans need to know that Fishman Island is not the ideal place for the Fishmen and Merfolk to live. This is a place that was most likely built at some point in the past because of the persecution that they faced from the human race. At the same time, the people of Fishman Island themselves want to live on the surface under the real sun and not have sunlight carried to them by the Sun Tree Eve. That in itself adds quite a lot of context to how Fishman Island will be shaped later down the line and explains as to why Luffy might actually have a very good reason to destroy this place.
The Sinking Of The World
The World Of One Piece Is Entering A State Of Total Chaos
Recently, in the Final Saga of One Piece, Oda confirmed a massive theory that pertained to the sinking of the world. This was made public in Vegapunk’s message that was recently revealed and in this message, Vegapunk made it quite clear that the world of One Piece will inevitably end up sinking at some point later down the line. This is absolutely massive, and at the same time, it shapes up the future of the One Piece world in the final saga. Recently, Imu used the power called Mother Flame to wipe Lulusia off the face of the Earth. In its stead, a giant gaping hole was left, similar to the one under Enies Lobby. In the following days, the entire planet observed massive earthquakes, and with those earthquakes came a rise in water level of about 1 meter.
Let me cut to the chase. Our world is going to sink into the ocean!!
This rise in water level caused several Islands to sink completely, while others were partially inundated. Clearly, the World Government is going to make use of this weapon more often in the future and eventually, cause the entire world to sink under the ocean. This isn’t something that is new. In fact, they have done something similar before as well. During the Void Century, the Fishmen were likely a big part of the fighting forces against the 20 Kingdoms, however, after the 20 Kingdoms lost, the Fishmen likely realized that Joyboy’s promise would not be fulfilled and thus, they stuck to Fishman Island. Ever since then, they have been waiting for the arrival of Joy Boy once again, and a chance to live on the surface with the other races of the world.
How Luffy Will Destroy Fishman Island
Luffy Could Bring Down The Red Line And Save The Fishmen
The destruction of Fishman Island is not necessarily going to be a bad thing. Once the World Government makes sure that the entire world sinks, then, the vast majority of the people will be in a dire situation. Of course, this won’t affect the Fishman much. However, at this point, the Great War will already have erupted. This would mean that an all-out war will be fought against the Government, and when that happens, it will be incredibly exciting to see how Luffy takes down this tyrannical force with all the support behind his back. Luffy is the Sun God Nika and it is his responsibility to crush these powerful forces. When Luffy destroys the World Government and defeats Imu, it is highly likely that he will also destroy the Red Line.
Fishman Island is my territory!
The red line in itself is a symbol of the superiority of those living at the top. The World Government deems itself untouchable because they live above and deem themselves to be superior. They think the world below is dirty, and so, Luffy will utterly crush this Red Line, which will indirectly lead to the destruction of Fishman Island. It must be noted that Fishman Island is directly under the Red Line. As such, if the Red Line falls, Fishman Island will be destroyed.
This is where Noah comes in as well. Once Luffy defeats the World Government, the Fishmen and the Merfolk will be free to move to the surface and build a place of their own to live. They will likely have left Fishman Island, which will then subsequently be destroyed by the crushing of the Red Line. Fishman Island and its horrible past will be erased completely, and all the Fishmen will live with all the races of the world on the surface as equals in a new era established by Luffy.
Of course, that is still quite a while until Luffy actually ends up destroying the Red Line and Fishman Island with it. However, the latest clues that Oda delivered in One Piece have certainly added much context to how this event could come about. Fans simply cannot wait to see Luffy pull off this magnificent feat with the help of Shirahoshi at his side, and sink the corrupt system of the world under the waves once and for all.
