Fans can look forward to both Zoro novel and One Piece Magazine Issue No. 18 coming soon with new insights.
The world of One Piece is absolutely massive, and as such, it is no surprise for the fans to know that supplementary content often comes out on multiple occasions a year. Whether that be through vivre cards, novels, or One Piece magazines, Oda always looks to add depth to his story.
Of course, then, there is the question of whether what is being added is canon or not. Frankly, that varies on a case-by-case basis. For instance, the Vivre Cards are usually handled by Oda’s editors and can be wildly incorrect at times. On other occasions, the Vivre Cards can have interesting additional information that Oda deems to be unnecessary to include directly in his manga. Similarly, now, there is a new novel about Roronoa Zoro, the Straw Hat Swordsman, coming out, and this novel is going to be diving deeper into Zoro’s character.
One Piece Magazine Issue No. 18 – Focus On Zoro And Sanji
The Wings Of The Pirate King Get Special Attention In The One Piece Magazine
One Piece magazine has had several issues over the years, and later this year, fans are going to get the issue number 18 of this incredible run of magazine. In this issue of the magazine, Oda is going to tackle the Wings of the Pirate King, and that is, Zoro and Sanji. This is a magnificent duo that Oda has set up right from the early parts of One Piece, and their relationship has unfolded in fascinating ways over the years. Above all, Zoro and Sanji are incredibly exciting rivals, both being adamant about surpassing the other. That said, to both of them, the most important thing is making Luffy the Pirate King, and a display of that was given to the fans in the Wano country arc of One Piece.
As they beat their respective enemies, they would see their first glimpse of Luffy as the King of the Pirates. Sanji and Zoro were fascinating in Wano, defeating the commanders of the Beast Pirates. Ever since then, these two have proven to be Luffy’s spear and sword, and they will continue to play that role as One Piece continues.
If we win this battle … Yes, we’ll be closer to .. Luffy becoming the King of the Pirates! – Zoro and Sanji in Wano
If anything, the Final Saga will only give a more pronounced role to Zoro and Sanji, and a glimpse of that has actually already been provided to the fans in the Egghead Island Arc. Now, One Piece Magazine Volume 18 is going to focus on their role as the Wings of the Pirate King, and showcase how they help Luffy in achieving His dream. At the same time, it will also likely cover their roles, their way of approach to certain things, and at the same time, their power levels as well. Fans are incredibly excited about this magazine, but at the same time, there is other stuff to be excited about as well.
Along with this magazine issue, fans are also going to get a new Zoro novel. Zoro, as fans know, is a beloved character, but, often, many fans believe him to lack a certain depth. That is not to say that Zoro needs more depth as a character, but it would certainly be fun to know more about Zoro’s life. That is precisely why these events are not in the story, but it would be nice to know how Zoro lived his life before he met Luffy.
A New Zoro Novel Announced
The Zoro Novel Is All Set To Be Released Soon
Right now, fans do not have too much information about the upcoming Zoro novel. However, what fans do know is that this novel is going to cover the life of Roronoa Zoro before he met Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates. As fans know, Zoro was a bounty hunter before joining Luffy and he was actually pretty famous across the East Blue. In fact, Zoro was feared by pirates such as Alvida, and others, such as Buggy and Arlong, knew of his exploits as well. The upcoming Zoro novel is most likely going to cover the incidents that led to him becoming infamous.
As far as the writer of the novel goes, Jun Esaka is going to be tackling this novel. Fans who have read One Piece novel A, which was focused on Ace, will remember this particular writer.
“There Is Someone I Must Meet Again. And Until That Day…Not Even Death Himself Can Take My Life Away.”
They worked brilliantly on Ace’s story, and Oda officially supervised what was written about Ace and later incorporated that into the main story of One Piece as well. In fact, the Ace story also ended up getting a manga adaptation, which was illustrated by Boichi.
It is believed that the Zoro novel is also going to be supervised by the author of One Piece, Oda. This means that Esaka will likely get notes directly from Oda pertaining to the major events that happened in Zoro’s life before he ended up meeting Luffy. That said, the author will still have the freedom to fill in spaces using their own creativity.
There are also going to be illustrations in the novel which are going to be handled by Nakamaru. It is believed that there is going to be more than just one part of this novel. It is likely going to be similar to the Ace novel, which had a total of two parts. Similarly, the Zoro novel will likely be divided into two parts, with the first part releasing with One Piece Magazine volume 18.
Zoro Novel To Reveal Bits About His Secret Lineage
Zoro’s Lineage Will Finally Be Revealed In One Piece
On top of everything, fans know for a fact that the Zoro novel is going to reveal bits about his special lineage. Fans know that Zoro is linked directly to the Shimotsuki family from Wano Country. His lineage is special and he is also related directly to Shimotsuki Ushimaru, as well as Shimotsuki Ryuma, who was the Sword God of the Wano Country.
He is a pirate from across the sea, and yet he is the spitting image of Shimotsuki Ushimaru, the Daimyo of Ringo!
Zoro’s lineage has already been special from day one and this is something that the novel will likely elaborate upon. Fans might find out more bits from here and there about Zoro and his lineage, and how that translates to his incredible strength as a pirate in the One Piece world. All this has the fans incredibly excited, especially since the wait for the magazine isn’t all that long now.
Is The Zoro Novel Canon?
The Zoro Novel Is Going To Be Supervised By Oda
Of course, the fans will have a major question in their heads when it comes to the Zoro novel. And, this question is pertaining to the canonicity of this novel. To answer the question, at this point in time, it appears that the Zoro novel might be canon. This is because Oda is looking to supervise the novel by himself, and the previous novel that was written by Jun Esaka, which is One Piece novel A, was canon as well. As such, fans can consider the Zoro novel canon well, which means there are great things to look forward to for the fans of this character.
