The proclamation that most avid spectators of the league had after the Super Bowl was that the Kansas City Chiefs are going to be a dynasty. This squad led by Patrick Mahomes had won three rings in a span of five years. With the help of Chris Jones and Travis Kelce, Coach Andy Reid ran the proper schemes. It more than kept the squad afloat against the San Francisco 49ers. However, the team’s superstar quarterback had one specific play that he will never forget in that title-clinching series.

Corn Dog or the Tom and Jerry motion play is a staple in the Chiefs’ late-game arsenal. This was the play that Mahomes executed against the 49ers to win Super Bowl 58. Basically, one of Andy Reid’s weapons runs before the snap towards the line of scrimmage then fakes the defender by running straight to the sideline for an easy pass. All the quarterback needs to do is ensure that his soft touch is on the ball such that the receiver doesn’t fumble.

Patrick Mahomes recalled how great that call from Andy Reid was. Furthermore, he even made a big declaration if other teams could not find a way to stop that type of motion, via IMPAULSIVE with Logan Paul.

“That play was freaking sweet. It was not supposed to go to the guy who caught the touchdown. We ran the corndog one against the Eagles. The touchdown won the game. Then, we ran a fake version of that and we were going to do a little shovel pass and it was wide open again. Next year in New Orleans, we’re going to do it again. Put it on the table,” the Chiefs superstar proclaimed.

The first order of business in maintaining their dynastic status was retaining their players. The Chiefs had two key signings that placed them atop the list of title contenders. Chris Jones came back and they also re-signed Travis Kelce to the biggest contract that a tight end has ever been offered. These two are staples for Big Red’s squad. Kelce’s synergy with Mahomes is unrivaled and no other pass catcher could replicate that. Jones, on the other hand, also brings quite a big defensive impact and veteran acumen more than any other defensive player on the Chiefs.

While there may have been unfortunate departures like that of L’Jarius Sneed, the Chiefs acquired some new members. Mahomes got new weapons in free agency. They signed Hollywood Brown and then followed that up by drafting Xavier Worthy. Their offensive line is also filled with young guns like Kingsley Suamataia, Hunter Nourzac, and C.J. Hanson.

The offense is not the only aspect of the game where they got more depth. The defensive squad will also get Jaden Hicks, Kamal Hadden, Swayze Bozeman, Curtis Jacobs, and Luquay Washington. Is this squad ready for another Super Bowl run?
