Pop music superstar Justin Timberlake is coming to Columbia for a concert

Pop music superstar Justin Timberlake is coming to Columbia for a concert, promoters said Monday.

Timberlake will bring his “The Forget Tomorrow World Tour,” for a stop at Colonial Life Arena on June 8, arena officials said in a news release.

Timberlake, also well known as a member of *NSYNC, an actor and all-around entertainer, is embarking on his first solo tour in five years, according to the release.

Tickets will go on sale to the public Friday online at ticketmaster.com and justintimberlake.com, but various presale events will be held from Tuesday through Thursday. Any tickets that are still available can be purchased the next business day online or the following Tuesday at the Colonial Life Arena box office.

The Columbia show was a late addition to the previously planned tour, promoters said. This is Timberlake’s only scheduled tour stop in South Carolina, but he also has shows planned for North Carolina — Raleigh on June 12 and Charlotte on Nov. 14.

Timberlake has sold more than 54 million albums and 63 million singles globally, and a further 70 million records as a lead vocalist of the boy band *NSYNC, according to the release.

He has won 10 Grammy Awards across the pop, dance and R&B genres, in addition to the four Emmy Awards he’s won for his memorable stints on “Saturday Night Live.”

On the big screen, he’s lent his voice to the popular animated franchise “TROLLS.” His hit record “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” from “TROLLS” was nominated for Best Original Song at the 2017 Academy Awards.

Other songs Timberlake is known for from his solo career include “Sexy Back,” “Cry Me A River,” “Rock Your Body,” “My Love,” and “Mirrors” among other hits.

“Fans can expect to hear songs from his new sixth studio album ’Everything I Thought It Was,’ … and everyone’s favorite hits,” promoters said in the release
