Reba McEntire has declared who should play her if anyone makes a movie about her life, and it’s Oscar-winner Emma Stone.
McEntire named her preference during “Reba McEnfire,” a series of rapid-fire questions she answered while appearing on E! News. Apparently the queen of country took notice of Stone when she won best actress this year for her role in Poor Things. Stone also won best actress in 2017 for a leading role in La La Land.
Though we have yet to hear of a McEntire biopic underway, theVoice coach shared a few details about a pilot she’s starring in for NBC. McEntire said the show won’t be a continuation of Reba, but something “brand new” instead.
“It’s called Happy’s Place,” McEntire said. “And it’s about a tavern that me and my father own. His name was Happy. He passes. …and then there’s a little hiccup there at the lawyer’s office.”
The country singer will be reuniting with former co-star Melissa Peterman for the show. McEntire’s actor boyfriend, Rex Linn, also has a role on Happy’s Place as a short-order cook. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the couple appear on the same show, as both had roles in ABC drama Big Sky and Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon.
McEntire also told E! she’ll be debuting a new single at Academy Country Music Awards, which is coming up on May 16. She is hosting the awards show for the 17th time, proving she has still got it as a queen of country.
