The Kansas City Chiefs have made some notable changes to the roster following the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Chiefs, who drafted former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, signed 17 undrafted free agents following the draft’s conclusion. Those signings included two wide receivers, Reggie Brown out of James Madison and Phillip Brooks from Kansas State.

Following those signings, the Chiefs cut players from their roster: wide receiver Jacob Copeland, tight end Izaiah Gathings, safety Tyree Gillespie, wide receiver Shi Smith, defensive end Jordan Smith, linebacker Cole Christiansen, and wide receiver Anthony Miller, according to Yahoo.com.

The most notable name is Miller, who was signed by the Chiefs in December 2023, right after wide receiver Skyy Moore hit injured reserve.

Miller, who briefly played for the Houston Texans, hasn’t played in the NFL since 2021, when he was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Miller caught 140 passes for 1,589 yards and 12 touchdowns in 50 games over his career, with 18 starts. In January, Miller agreed to a reserve/future deal with the Chiefs. However, they cut him off the roster before he could even attend OTA sessions.

This summer, the Kansas City Chiefs revamped their wide receiving corps by signing Hollywood Brown and selecting Xavier Worthy in the first round of the draft. Although it’s uncertain where the adjustments will end, Kansas City has let go of seven players who will now need to find employment throughout the league.

The Kansas City Chiefs and their front office have some exciting moves to make as they get set to make NFL history next season possibly.

Patrick Mahomes and his colleagues are in a position to make history in football history as they might win a third straight Super Bowl. There’s a good chance they might complete a three-peat, which has never been done in NFL history.
