When LeBron James becomes a free agent, the NBA universe comes to an end. James has the ability to halt the sports world until he makes a decision, marking the fourth and maybe final instance in his illustrious career.
After the Lakers were eliminated from the playoffs by the Nuggets for the second year in a row, LeBron James has an opt-out clause in his contract this offseason.
A new favorite is now emerging for his services.
BetOnline has the Golden State Warriors as +400 favorites to sign LeBron while the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, and Chicago Bulls round out the list.
Cari Champion, a former ESPN broadcaster, claimed that she had gotten a text message predicting that Game 5 would be James’ last game with the Lakers before the pivotal game.
The Athletic revealed after the Lakers’ Monday night loss to Denver that they wanted James back “badly” and were willing to consider a three-year, $164 million maximum agreement with James this summer.
One of the biggest mid-season stories of the season was when the Golden State Warriors tried to recruit LeBron James to the team in February. According to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic, LeBron James chose not to engage with the Warriors in February, but maybe things have changed since then.
LeBron is one individual who can play up the drama of an off-season move better than anybody else. It will be a big story whether or not he inks a new contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers may grant LeBron’s wish to play with his oldest son, Bronny James, in the upcoming season.
The Lakers are “very open” to the prospect of picking Bronny, who filed to enter the 2024 NBA Draft in April, according to a report from The Athletic.
In 25 games with the Trojans, Bronny averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while shooting 36.6% from the field.
