The Buffalo Bills will have an uphill task this season. The team has made bizarre calls to get rid of some of its defensive players, and on offense, the team traded Stefon Diggs away for virtually nothing. In light of this trade, many questions surround the team. Are the Bills done? Is their Super Bowl window shut? There is no answer to this question at the moment, but the team has time to turn things around until the season commences.

Head coach for the Buffalo Bills, Sean McDermott understands the value and threat that Stefon Diggs brought to the team’s offense. While speaking to the media for the first time since the trade, he acknowledged the fact that it will be hard to replace Diggs.

I mean, it's hard right? Stef's a great player. I really enjoyed our time together. Won a lot of games, and he was a huge factor in winning those games. We'll miss him. You never replace a player like Stef Diggs. And we wish him well- Stef and his family. So, hard to move on from a player like that. And now we go back to looking at our roster and (we're) excited for the opportunity that we have in that room for guys to step up.

The Buffalo Bills have a lot of work to do this off-season in terms of their roster

Head coach Sean McDermott got that right. Despite Stefon Diggs’ inconsistencies during his tenure at the Buffalo Bills, he was a key part of that offense. Defenses used to spread out as they feared leaving him open, but now that he is gone, it makes it harder for Josh Allen and the wide receivers he has at his disposal to appear as dangerous.

The Buffalo Bills will need to make some moves ahead of the NFL Draft to get a shot at getting good wide receivers in order to make up for the void created by the departure of Diggs. The Bills made sure to prioritize Josh Allen over Stefon Diggs.

General manager Brandon Beane revealed that the team’s QB was fully aware of the fact that the team was going to trade Diggs. McDermott also went on to defend the team’s decision.

You always have conversations, sometimes multiple conversations. You communicate, again, multiple times and you collaborate. This was a big decision so one we didn't take lightly. But again, just trying to do what's best for the team both for the near-term and the long-term.

Trading Diggs was not an easy decision. The Bills were expected to beat the Kansas City Chiefs and make the Super Bowl and Diggs was viewed by many as the missing piece to the puzzle. However, the team never was able to get it together in the playoffs. This season, the Bills had the best shot to dethrone the Chiefs, but Diggs ended up being a liability in the game rather than an asset. Not only did he drop a pass that could have potentially led to a touchdown, but he did not show up as the team had hoped for him to.

Now that he is part of the Houston Texans, Diggs has to be happy. He is another asset to CJ Stroud, who in his rookie year left the NFL shaken with his talent and potential. The Texans are a legitimate threat in the NFL, and with the addition of Diggs, they just got a lot more dangerous.
