As the world enters the ‘Fortnight’ era, the Swifties are combing out every hint that Taylor Swift has left in her hit song about her beau, Travis Kelce. Regarded as the first of the 16 (actually 17, one is a bonus song), it features another famous face, Post Malone.

In the deep hours of Friday night, the 14-time Grammy-winning singer released one by one the tracks of ‘The Tortured Poets Department.‘ Swifties around the globe were waiting for it to drop on the internet, and when the first video song ‘Fortnight’ finally hit YouTube, it surpassed five million views in just a matter of hours.

In the ‘shorts’ section of YouTube, Swift shared additional footage that was a collage of behind-the-scenes moments from when she was still producing the song. It starts off with her wearing headphones and moving to the tune.

Then it cuts to the 34-year-old cooking. And shortly after, Travis Kelce enters the frame and gives a massive kiss on her right cheek.

The video continued with Swift doing a workout in the gym, then a glimpse of her cat, Meredith. Just before it ends, she can be seen wearing temporary tattoos, which show up in the ‘Fortnight’ music video.

Decoding Taylor Swift’s song ‘Fortnight’

Sources close to Taylor Swift had previously revealed that she would dedicate a few songs to Travis. Being part of the edited video, the Chiefs All-Pro tight end may hint that she made the song in his honor. However this may not be the case.

Besides Post Malone’s presence, Swift also collaborated with her good friend Jack Antonoff. It’s a song about romantic encounters, as the lyrics suggest.

“And I love you; it’s ruining my life.”

“And for a fortnight there we were, forever running to you.”

The word ‘fortnight’ means 2 weeks or 14 days. Swifties as well as avid conspiracy theorists believe that this song is a memory of her past fling with Matty Healy back in 2023.

As the lyrics suggest, it lasted only for a short period (14 days), which is akin to a fortnight. Their rumored breakup was reported just a month after the two publicly appeared.
