Mike Tyson will face Jake Paul in boxing on July 20, but the former heavyweight champion’s ability to compete at the highest level has been called into question.

Days after it was announced that “Steel Puncher” Mike Tyson (57) would meet Jake Paul (27) on July 20, fans are analyzing who is more likely to win. And one of Tyson’s previous confessions left fans feeling bewildered.

Tyson, who was 58 at the time of the fight, had not fought professionally since 2005. But “Steel Mike” will face Paul, a star who rose to fame thanks to social media and now switches to boxing.

The fight will take place at AT&T Stadium, and Netflix will stream the game live to the world. But worryingly, online appeared a clip talking about Tyson only practicing Boxing for 30 seconds but was “bedridden” for up to 1 week.

The video features Tyson telling The Joe Rogan Experience: “Want me to tell you something about that video? I shot that video and I was in bed for a week. It was 30 seconds and I was in bed for a week. It wasn’t funny at all because it made me realize that it was the scary guy (Rafael Cordeiro, coach who trained with Tyson).”

Tyson explained that the clip came out 4 years ago, and now he can’t wait to fight Paul: “I’m looking forward to getting in the ring with Jake Paul. He has matured significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be interesting to see what a child’s will and ambition can do with the experience and talent of a GOAT.”

For his part, Jake confidently said: “He’s the best heavyweight of all time, turning knockouts into art. But I’m younger, I’m faster and I’m going to do my best to be stronger.”

Although Tyson will make a lot of money from this fight, many fans wish he would not step into the ring against an opponent so young.

On November 28, 2020, Tyson fought floor opponent Roy Jones (55), the match ended in a draw after 8 rounds.

With Jake, the 27-year-old has played a total of 10 fights (9 wins, 1 loss), in the last fight, the American boxer defeated Ryan Bourland (2/3/2024) by knockout in the first round.
