Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown, who may or may not be officially retired from football, was recently seen working out with two current NFL stars.
Antonio Brown has announced his “retirement” on several occasions over the years, only to follow it up by stating that he’s not actually finished with football. But considering he hasn’t played in almost three years now, it’s safe to assume that his controversial career is done.
On his Instagram story, Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith posted videos of himself throwing passes to both Brown and current Baltimore Ravens star wide receiver Zay Flowers.
Make of that what you will. Some folks will naturally wonder if Brown is still working out extensively with the hope of an NFL comeback, and if Smith himself is pushing for Seattle to sign the mercurial 35-year-old.
Brown spent his final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021. He caught 42 passes for 545 yards and four touchdowns in seven games, but the Bucs released Brown after he took off his equipment and walked out of their Week 17, 2021 game against the New York Jets.
Brown had disagreed with Bruce Arians over his injury and was unhappy when the coach said he was done for the game.
Antonio Brown’s Once-Legendary Career Quickly Unraveled
Antonio Brown was previously on a Hall of Fame trajectory, earning seven Pro Bowl nods during his run with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a four-time First-team All-Pro who led the NFL in both catches and receiving yards twice.
But Brown ruined his Hall of Fame case with his behavior as well as a series of disturbing off-the-field incidents that have led to several arrests.
Brown also had ugly divorces from the Steelers, Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots in a span of eight months. Throw in his unforgettable exit from Tampa, and it’s easy to understand why NFL teams have refused to take another chance on him.
