Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are back in the series after a convincing win on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
However, after the game, something else would take center stage.
On Thursday, the Dallas Mavericks star was answering a media question about his team’s NBA playoff triumph when what appeared to be sex noises interrupted the news conference.
He glanced up wide-eyed and lowered his head, stifling laughter.
“I hope that’s not live,” he said.
It sounded like a high-pitched female voice moaning for a few seconds, and then it stopped as reporters broke out in confusion and laughter.
The source of the moaning was not immediately known.
Grant Afseth, a Dallas Mavericks reporter, wrote on X that the incident was “definitely the weirdest start to a press conference I’ve ever experienced.”
The Mavericks’ delight with their performance may not be comparable to someone experiencing sensual pleasure, but they had much to be happy about.
Dallas tied its Western Conference semifinal series at a game apiece with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Their win came on the strength of Luka Doncic’s 29 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists, via ESPN.com.

The Dallas Mavericks were staying at a 1-0 hole after losing Game 1 by a score of 117-95.
Luka Doncic had a terrible performance as he finished the loss with 19 points, six rebounds, nine assists, and two steals, shooting 6/19 from the field and 1/8 from the three-point range in 41 minutes of playing time.
He rebounded well in Game 2 with 29 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. The series now shifts to Dallas with the matchup now tied 1-1.
The Mavericks are trying to get back to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2011.
