Just when One Piece live-action fans were becoming impatient regarding the details of season 2, Inaki Godoy dropped the biggest hint ever. The hint came in the form of a deceivingly simple-looking cake that Godoy carried in to thank fans of the series.
The next thing you know, Godoy makes a mischievous face, and the camera zooms into the cake. Lo and behold, the cake holds a 3-shaped candle. On closer inspection, even the cake resembles a melting candle.
Who else would it be referring to if not Luffy’s quirky foe-turned-friend, Mr. 3?

The official Instagram account of Netflix’s One Piece live-action series dropped the mother of all hints for the upcoming plot of season 2. The caption for the post teased that the Arabasta Saga will be the next one to be featured:
“It’s Luffy’s birthday, Straw Hats! 🎂 Feliz Cumpleaños to the future King of the Pirates! 🏴☠️ Cheers to chasing our dreams and going on amazing adventures. Line up for a slice of cake. It’s good, but it tastes a little waxy.“
This hints at Luffy’s ally who was first introduced as an antagonist, Mr. 3 or Galdino. He was the main antagonist of the Little Garden Arc but then became Luffy’s friend and helper after he was rescued by the Straw Hat during the Impel Down Arc.

Season 1 of the live-action ended with Luffy defeating the Arlong Crew. While the Loguetown Arc is yet to be adapted, it is likely that the series will directly jump to the next saga. Mr. 3 debuts during the Alabasta Saga, which the second season of Netflix’s One Piece live-action will adapt.
Season 2 of One Piece Live-Action Will Also Introduce Two New Egghead Island Characters
Yes, the Egghead Arc is a long way off, and it will take a few more seasons for the live-action to catch up to it. However, two Egghead characters have made their debut way earlier in the manga, and they are bound to be featured in season 2.

In the same arc that Mr. 3 targets Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hats reach a strange island called Little Garden. It is actually a huge island stuck in the prehistoric era, where two giants from Elbaf Island live.
Yes, you guessed it right, the giants are none other than Dorry and Brogy, who also play pivotal roles in the Egghead Island arc. These giants have been locked in combat with each other on the island for the past 100 years.
Both the giants and Mr. 3 are unfriendly to the Straw Hats at first but later warm up to them. In fact, these characters will show up from time to time to help the crew during their most troublesome times.
